Missions Director
Position Summary: The Missions Director’s role is to create opportunities for members of Union Church to partner with Christ-centered organizations in Hong Kong, China, The Mekong Region, Mongolia, and the Philippines in Evangelism, Discipleship, and Compassion. The Missions Director reports to the Senior Pastor.
- Strategic planning: The Missions Director will identify the annual priorities/values for Union Church missions and identify the regions of the world and the ministries with whom Union Church will partner.
- Budget: The Missions Director will work with the missions’ team to review and allocate funds to various local and international ministries and monitor their use of the funds.
- Connection: The Missions Director will visit and connect (or deputize a volunteer to visit and inspect with clear guidelines) all ministries supported by Union Church each calendar year.
- Service: The Missions Director will manage the current service project opportunities and create new service project opportunities for Union Church members to serve the city. The Missions Director will liaise with Youth group, Young Adults group, Women’s groups and Men’s groups in developing appropriate mission trips. The Missions Director will organize international mission trips per year and visit local (Hong Kong) missions regularly.
- Communications and Education: The Missions Director will communicate to the congregation regularly regarding upcoming service and Bless the City opportunities and publish regular communications in the bulletin regarding missions. The Missions Director will liaise with the Children’s Ministry Director, the Youth Ministry Director, the Worship Ministry leaders and the Discipleship Pastor regarding how to promote a missions mindset in Union Church.
- Team building: The Missions Director will mobilize and equip Union Church members to serve on the missions’ opportunities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Vibrant mature Christian Faith • Undergraduate degree minimum in theological related field
- Experience with church ministry or NGOs
- A heart for outreach
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- The ability to develop and multiply teams to serve
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills
- Work on Sunday and Tuesday to Friday. Saturday, public holiday and evening hours may be required occasionally.
- Fluent English
