Our Team

Jonathan was born in the Seychelles and grew up in Hong Kong, spending his early years in Hong Kong before attending boarding school in Scotland and completing his tertiary education in England. He returned to Hong Kong in 2001 and qualified as a barrister in 2003.  

Jonathan’s first exposure to the Christian faith was through attending a Catholic primary school in Hong Kong and an Anglican secondary school. Prior to meeting his wife, he attended meetings at a small protestant church in Jordan.  Jonathan met his wife Gwen in Hong Kong, and were married in 2011. He was baptised the same year. Having attended various churches locally in Hong Kong, they found Union Church to be their spiritual home, and have attended the 9.30am (now 9.45am) service since late 2011. They have since joined a small group and have found comfort and support in the Union Church family.  Their two daughters, Emmanuelle and Eilidh, also attend Sunday school and creche respectively.

Jonathan has served on the Committee of Management for the past two years, liaising with the Children’s Ministry, and in 2021 became Honorary Secretary.
