Although the Bible does not explicitly mention formal membership, scriptures do speak of a commitment to a local church (Hebrews 10:25; Ephesians 4:1-16; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31). In the age of individualism, formal church membership can help provide a sense of stability and connectedness.
Membership can benefit you in several additional ways:
1) Church membership clarifies and makes public your commitment to spiritual growth and service
2) It allows you to vote when the church decision-making process requires church-wide authority on leadership, the annual budget and significant financial commitments, and
3) Being a member enables eligibility to serve in particular leadership roles within the church. When you become a member we hope you acknowledge in your heart that Union Church is your spiritual home and that you have a vested interest in Union's well-being.
To become a member of Union Church, we invite you to complete the membership form and meet with the Deacons.
