Stewardship & Giving

A Little Act of Generosity

Scripture reminds us to remember the words of our Lord Jesus who said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Acts 20:35 There are many ways in which we can give - our tithes and offerings as well as our time and talents. All we have comes from God and belongs to God. We are called to be good stewards of what we have been given.

The body of Christ is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. -- 1 Corinthians 12

We are all uniquely gifted

Each person is uniquely gifted with spiritual gifts and has a role to play in building up the body of Christ. At Union Church we encourage you to discover your gifts and find a meaningful place for service.

Why We Give

As a church, we believe that we are called to respond to the generosity of the gospel by giving extravagantly, of our time and resources, to the progress of the gospel in our community and world. Biblical generosity is not about meeting budget needs; it is about a rich and trusting relationship with a living God. We express our faith and love to Him by honoring Him as the source of everything we have. Scriptural giving is performed with regularity, from the first portion of all we are given, as a proportion of our income and cheerfully.

What is Tithing?

Tithing is our starting place in giving. The Bible teaches us about a baseline standard for giving: the tithe (a word that literally means a “tenth”). Leviticus 27:30 - “A tenth of the produce of the land, whether grain or fruit, is the Lord’s, and is holy.” When we give the first 10% of our income through the local church, we give back to the Lord what is His and we put Him first in our lives. God also encourages us to be generous and to give offerings beyond our tithe - so we encourage you to be open to how the Spirit leads.

Give Securely

Whether you’d like to give a single gift or schedule recurring donations, you can do it all online. It’s quick, easy, and secure. Union Church protects confidentiality on giving. Only individuals involved in the administrative process of contributions are aware of the identity of contributors.

Annual Reports

Our Annual Report provides a progress update on our vision, shows how donated funds are used and gives insight into how each area of ministry specifically uses the funds designated. Our Lord continues to bless Union with the people and resources to do amazing things for His Kingdom, and our Annual Report is a chance to keep our eye on the numbers that matter. Behind every metric is a story, so here is this year's account of God's work at Union Church.
