U MattersLast week Apple lowered the price of iPhone battery replacement and admitted their programs slowed down older phones and drained the batteries at a rapid rate. As an older Apple phone user—actually an older user of a relatively newer iPhone—I sometime feel slow and drained. Even younger Android phone users get tired and lose the connection between their Christian faith and their workaday world. Next Wednesday, 10 January, we start a 7:15 PM Wednesday night service. Even before the Apple controversy, we had decided to name it ReCharge. It will be a chance to worship and to dig deeper than we can on Sundays on topics that just might encourage you to live out your faith more boldly in 2018. We start with a series: Wisdom for the Workplace—The Parables of Jesus in Luke. I will share the speaking with members of Union’s staff. To kick things off in January, two of my favourite preachers and Bible teachers, Dr. Paul Watermulder and Dr. Chip Hardwick will challenge us. Please pray for us as we add ReCharge to a growing list of opportunities to worship and learn together. Gratefully

This WeekSunday School Resume
Our regular Sunday School resume this Sunday, 7 January at both the 9:45AM & 11:15AM. Parents please take note of the changes that are taking place starting from this Sunday. Children are to gather at the Fellowship Hall for Kids Worship Time for the first 15 minutes and then proceed to the classrooms accompanied by their Sunday School teachers. Children ages 3 to 9 years old are to be picked up from their respective classrooms and the 10 year old will be dismissed at the end of the service. Kindly pick up the Sunday School leaflet by the Welcome Table or visit Union Church website for the latest classrooms arrangement. We greatly appreciate your patient and kind understanding as we go through these changes. Thank you. Crèche Center Dear Parents, due to the sanctuary expansion the Crèche Center will now move permanently to ROOM 1. We appreciate your kind understanding and cooperation. In addition, please leave the baby strollers at the designated stroller parking area which can be found at the church main entrance door in order to keep the Crèche Center clean and safe for babies to use.
