U Matters
Greetings from Greg Gung Gung. Our daughter Lindsey gave birth to a baby boy, Carter James Miller, on 1 January.
Baby, mother, and father are doing great. The grandfather is beside himself with joy and gratitude to God. Holly and I are thrilled to be grandparents and we ask for your prayers for this precious baby.
8 January is Epiphany Sunday and Pastor Matthew will be focusing on the opportunity we have to dedicate 2017 to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Opportunities
New Courses: “The Jesus Lifestyle” and “The Marriage Course”
“The Jesus Lifestyle” 6 week course will start on Wednesday, 11 January 2017. It follows on from the Alpha course but is open to everyone.
'Nicky Gumbel presents such topics as: how to find the secret of happiness? How to change the world around you? How to handle anger?
Time: 7:30PM – 9:00PM

“The Marriage Course” will run from Thursdays, 16 February – 30 March 2017. The course offers a lifetime of practical ideas and tools to help keep your relationship strong. The course is based on Christian principles but is designed for ALL couples with or without a church background.

There will be a charge to cover the cost of the weekly dinners. Registration details to follow.
5:00PM Sermon Series ‘Amos: a prophet for the People’
29 January, 5, 12, 19 and 26 February
God called Amos, a shepard, to prophesy to the Nation of Israel. What Amos said was not comforting. Amos criticised the nations for injustice and lack of care for those on the margins of society. Join us for a 5 week sermon series on the minor prophet Amos who gave major challenges to God’s people.
Prayer for Union Come lift up the needs of Union Church. Join us every Tuesday morning at 7:30AM for a time of prayer in the Sanctuary.

Youth
2017 Youth Kickoff
Our First Friday Night of the year will be Friday, 6 January! Please join us to welcome the New Year.
Junior High (11-13) from 6:00PM to 8:00PM
Senior High (14-18) from 7:30PM to 9:00PM (+Hang out in the Youth Lounge after until 10:00PM!)
Youth Sunday Life
9:30AM – 10:30AM
All ages will meet in the youth lounge to watch a short video from the NOOMA series. We will then break up into small groups for discussion.
Dad & Son Day Out
Fathers and sons are invited to an uplifting, memorable day out in Cheung Chau Island on 25 February, from 10AM to 6PM.
There will be exciting activities, opportunities for learning and also plenty of time for dads/sons to engage with one another and have fun.

Kingdom Kids
Sunday School Resumes
Children ages 3-10 year old are invited to join our Sunday School at the 9:30AM or 11:00AM services. Parents please bring your children directly to the Lower Annex at the start of the service time for a children's worship session. The children will proceed to their Sunday School classes with their teachers after the worship. Kindly pick up your children promptly at the end of the service.
Creche Center
Children ages 0-3 year old are invited to join our Creche Center which is open from 8:30AM to 12:00PM. Our Creche Coordinator together with two volunteers will be leading our babies and toddlers in songs, Bible stories and snack time.
Sunday School Registration
If you are new to Union Church or if you have yet to register your children for our Sunday School program, kindly register your children here. All children enrolling in our Sunday School and Creche Center MUST BE REGISTERED by filling in and signing the Registration Form. Registering your children helps us keep your children safe, plan our programs better and communicate well with you.
