Happy New Year! The New Year stretches before us like a blank piece of paper, it's a clean slate, a new beginning, a fresh start. I love the new year as it provides an impetus to set new goals, to take stock, and to consider what we would like to change or how we would like to grow. What will your "New Year's Renewal" look like? Consider Spiritual goals -join a small group or Read the Bible in a Year; Mental goals -learn a new skill or take a class; Emotional/Relational goals -maybe work on a strained relationship or address a personal issue; Physical goals -eating habits or new exercise regime. Proverbs 16:3 says, "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." It has been said that "no one can go back and start a new beginning but anyone can start today and make a new ending." How is the Lord speaking to you for 2016? Pastor Michele

With the funds, we were able to sponsor a ger for a family in freezing Mongolia (HKD22,000); help families of the Filipino Fellowship who were affected by the recent typhoon with repairs to their homes (HKD17,772), and give Habitat for Humanity funds to build houses in Asia (HKD25,511.60). Thanks for being friends to the homeless. On Sunday 17th January, Jerry Jackson from Faith Comes By Hearing will be speaking at Union during the 9.30AM and 11AM services. We will also be taking up our first special offering of the year for FCBH. The Asia Board of FCBH will match any funds given during the Union services. For example, to sponsor one New Testament language recording is US$35,000; if FCBH receives a gift from Union of US$17,500, the Asia board will match US$17,500. In other words, the matching fund allows a gift of US$17,500 to record a new language bible. |

Youth is Back! Join us this Friday as we kick off another great year of youth. Same time, Same place. Sunday School is Back! Join us this Sunday as we kick off another great year of Sunday School. Same time, Same place. Youth Spring Mission trip! Youth ages 11 to 18 are invited to join us over the Easter Break as we spend a week in the Philippines working with Kid’s International Ministry to build some of the homes raised at the Youth Banquet. We are also looking for loving adults who would want to come and help care for and encourage our youth on this trip. Sign up’s start next week! Looking for a Host! Union Church is excited to welcome Joy, our new Assistant Youth Director to Hong Kong. Joy will be joining the team in early February. We are looking for someone who has an extra room and would be willing to host Joy for a month or 6 weeks while she looks for a new home in Hong Kong. Sunday School Resume This Sunday, 10 January, we will kick off our first Sunday School in the year of 2016 with Childrens Worship Time. The children will be worshiping and praying together and once a month will be joined by the Youth Group. Our Worship Session will run for the first 15 minutes of each service before children proceed to their Sunday School classes. Parents please note that from this Sunday, children ages 3-10 years old will go directly to the Lower Annex Room. Sunday School Teachers New Year's Gathering & Workshop, Saturday, January 9, 2016
