U Matters |
Last year Union members gave 8.8 million HK ($1,135,500 US) to world and local missions. Last week 50 of our young people and adults were involved in mission trips. Several of our members give their valuable time and insights as board members of Christian mission agencies and NGO's. Union is heavily invested in sharing the good news of Jesus throughout the world (but mostly Asia.) Missions Director Lee-Ann McFarlane and her missions committee have planned a special Missions Sunday for us. We will take a 10/10/10 offering to combat poverty Hong Kong. You have the chance to make a real impact on our community as you continue to generously and sometimes sacrificially support Christ's work. Praise be to God and thank you for the part each of you is playing in fulfilling the Great Commission and Great Commandment of Christ! Pastor Greg |
Stewardship |
'As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.' (Luke 21:1-4) No matter much or little, all that we have is from God. We should give back all to serve His work as the poor widow did. Rennan Du |
Building Union for the Future |
The BUFF team continues to work with the developer and various consultants to achieve a design for the new church which glorifies God and is user-friendly. The process is time-consuming because of the many government departments who have a say over the town planning and building approval process. Our last submission made progress on a number of fronts but there is still work to be done on others. At this moment, the BUFF team continues to target a relocation from Kennedy Road to the temporary premises next summer. Please do continue to pray that God's will be done and that He guides all who work on this project. Any question regarding this update may be directed to Kay Ian Ng or David Runciman. |
