Bible Series Talk - 'The Craziest Bible Stories Ever' - Pastor Matthew
Joshua's butchery of cruel and faithless Canaanite civilisations, retaliation or assimilation during the next twelve generations, the emergence of unlikely Israelite heroines and heroes Samson, Jephthah, and Deborah, and an unlikely cross-cultural love story between enemies, etc. make these books splendid material for anyone with an interest in crime, love, war, betrayal, trust in God, revenge, or leadership. Why would an orthodox Jew consider a bloodstained book such as Judges to be more sacred than Psalms, Proverbs, or Daniel? What can we learn about God and ourselves from this alternatively glorious and obscene soap opera?
