U Matters
I got to spend the day with my father on Tuesday. A quick trip to the US was worth it just for the chance to talk to and learn from him. At 86, he is concerned about finding God’s purpose for him at this stage of his life. We were talking with his 89 year-old-friend Wally, who spent 51 years as a missionary doctor in Ecuador! He too was searching for ways to serve God even though his health has slowed him down. On this Father’s Day, I salute the fathers and grandfathers as they find and fulfill their vocations. And I thank God for the spiritual fathers and grandfathers! The pastor who influenced me to go into the ministry is in the same retirement home as my father. At 96, Pastor Wold still drives and visits people in the hospital.
What kind of legacy are we going to live as fathers, mothers, and grandparents? My visit with wise and Godly very old men left me inspired and convicted.

The Deacons and COM have started a scholarship fund. There will be a chance next Sunday to contribute to Matthew's education fund. You can get a tax deduction by writing your check to Union Church or Hong Kong Friends of Charity, Inc.

Youth End of the Year Party
16 June will be our End of the Year Party! This will be a great time to get together and celebrate the year as a whole. In addition we’ll have the chance to say goodbye (and congratulations) to our graduating seniors, while welcoming the upcoming Youth from Children’s Ministry!

BUFF
SPONSOR AN ITEM FOR THE NEW CHURCH AT SUNLIGHT TOWER!
Since the launch of the BUFF stewardship campaign at the end of April, we are truly grateful that some 54 members of Union Church have contributed $4.2 million towards our target of raising $10 million for the fit out cost of Sunlight Tower and for professional costs incurred on this project. Some members have provided feedback that they prefer to sponsor an item at Sunlight Tower so that their giving can be more targeted and directly connected to a tangible item. We have heard you and so on Sundays June 11, 18 and 25, there will be a BUFF Table in the foyer or on the green whereby members can view the proposed sponsorship items at Sunlight Tower. Please do visit the table after the service to see more of the design at Sunlight Tower and choose your favorite item to sponsor!

Fellowship Brunch after 8:30AM Service, Sunday 25 June

Youth
Are you a youth and want to be involved in our youth group? There are many ways you can be involved: Youth Group (Friday, Sunday), Youth Band, Christian Clubs, Confirmation etc.
Don’t wait September to join us! If you’re in Hong Kong this summer, we meet every Friday at Union Church for a casual Hang-out from 6:00 to 9:00PM, for both Juniors and Seniors.

Kingdom Kids
End Of Year Party
On Sunday, 25 Jun, children are invited to join us for some fun games and pizzas as we celebrate the end of our Sunday School year. There will be some water games and extra pair of clothes for change may be required.
VBS Sunday School
Kingdom Kids invite all children ages 3 to 11 years old for our “Maker Fun Factory” VBS Summer Sunday School. We’ve got fun wrapped up for 5 Sundays in the summer, July 30, Aug 6, 13, 20, 27 at 9:30AM & 11:00AM service. Maker Fun Factory is filled with incredible Bible learning experiences, cool worship songs, Science-Fun Gizmos, team building game and tasty treats. Registration is now open and volunteers from 11 years old above are needed. Please register HERE or sign up at the Kingdom Kids table in front of the Lower Annex.

All-Church Mission Trip to Manila, October 2017
Sign-up now for Union Church’s annual All-Church Mission Trip to Manila in partnership with Kids International Ministries (KIM).
Everyone is welcome to join: KIM is baby and youth friendly!
The dates of the trip are 29 September to 02 October 2017, but you can also extend your stay in the Philippines if you want to! The current early-bird price for the trip is $4200.
