This week I received a letter, Good Day Pastor, "I am incarcerated...we don't even have people coming to see us...we are very hungry spiritually." What a contrast, to our Lenten smorgasbord of spiritual feasting. We have a lot going on - Wed Lenten Series, All Church Retreat, etc. If you are reading and interested in reaching out to a women's prison or serving in anyway please keep reading. Pastor Michele |

Wed, 24 Feb, 8:00PM (Refreshments at 7:30PM) We will explore the book of Leviticus (in keeping with the 16-25 Feb readings of the Chronological Bible). Leviticus is famous as a book for lawyers and priests, or rather more ignominiously, as 'the most boring book of the Bible'. But is it all snooze? Are there any surprises for non-solicitors, or points of interest for non-seminarians? What can we learn about God from a list of laws? Are nonsensical rules such as 'do not boil a young goat in its mother's milk' or 'you shall not allow a witch to live' relevant today? We will discuss God's laws on a justice-mercy spectrum, and discover a spirit of celebration and freedom that seasons God's justice. |
