U Matters

One of the most asked questions about our impending move has to do with worship times.

A group of leaders and staff members have been working on a Sunday schedule for our move in late August to Sunlight Tower.  We would like to share our proposal and ask that you give us feedback in person or on the wonderful new Union App.

9:30AM   Traditional/Classic Worship Service with Sunday School

11:00AM  Contemporary Worship Service with Sunday School

2:00PM  Family Friendly Worship Service with some version of Sunday School or Children’s Church.

The new facility is going to open some exciting new opportunities for worship, education, and fellowship.  Please continue to pray for us as we prepare and plan for the adventure before us.

This Week

Confirmation Sunday
This Sunday will be the Youth Confirmation Sunday. Youth will be Ushering, Greeting and Reading at the 9:30 and 11:00AM services. The Confirmation Ceremony itself will be held in the Sanctuary at 11:00AM, though the Candidates will share their testimony at the 9:30AM service.

BUFF

Town Hall Meeting
Sunday, 28 May, 12:00PM
There will be a Town Hall Meeting on 28 May to learn more about the move and how it affects you. Deacons, CoM, and staff will be there to hear your concerns. 
 
UCare Phone Calls
From now until Friday, 16 June Pastors, Ministry Directors, CoM and BUFF Leaders will reach out to you with a personal phone call and ask you about your greatest needs from Union Church and any concerns you have. We are looking forward to talking to you!

Opportunities

Monthly Prison Ministry
Christian Women who are bilingual and 26+ are invited.
First Monday morning of each month for a 6-month period, 9:15AM to 12:30PM
Tai Lam Centre for Women, 110 Tai Lam Chung Road, Tuen Mun.
Each visit will include 2 classes of Bible Study each for 1 hour and 15 mins.  
Join the training before and after you begin.

Sarawak Mission Trip Sharing
Sunday, 21 May, 12:30 – 2:00PM, Fellowship hall
Three Union families (Hopton’s, Wee's, Tan's) just returned from the Faith Comes By Hearing Sarawak trip - visiting the IBAN people listening group. We again witnessed wonderful works of our Lord in the field. It's so great to see the joy of the IBAN people when they can hear God's word in their own heart language. Light lunch will be served. Please contact   for more details. 

New Small Group Opportunities

Tuesday Nights
Join Rachel Wirth in the Mid-Levels on Tuesday nights for a study of Tim Keller’s series the Prodigal God. There is no better way to get connected than through a small group. Contact Pastor Michele for details.

Friday Nights
Join Emilie & Colin Banfield and Ester & Eugene Chung on the Southside alternate Friday nights. Starting 2 June, they will launch a new study “Sticky Faith”. This DVD series provides great talking points on parenting and how to help maintain the spiritual life of our kids. If you are a parent, this study is for you. Consider joining a couples group and contact Emilie or Pastor Michele for more details.

Kindness Walk - Reach out to the Homeless in Shum Shui Po
Sunday, 28 May
Families and children are welcome to join. We will give out free laundry coupons and some basic supplies to show our care. Please meet at:
(i) Nam Cheong MTR Exit A at 2PM, or
(ii) Have lunch together in the Lower Annex at 12:15PM before heading out.

Men's Fellowship OMEGA Dinner

End of the Year Party

Are you a University student between 18 and 23? Studying or interning in Hong Kong? Please join us at Starbucks at HKU (Near the Library) on Thursdays 5:30-7:00PM for good conversations and experience community with other University-aged young adults from Union. Contact Anto. 

Youth

NO Sunday Life - Confirmation Sunday
There will be no Sunday Life this week, due to Youth Confirmation Sunday.

Regular Friday Youth Group
Juniors meet from 6:00 to 8:00PM, Seniors meet from 7:30 to 9PM, with optional hang out in the Youth Lounge after until 10:00PM.

Amazin(g)Race
Friday, 26 May
Very soon we will have our ‘Amazin(G)Race’. For this event we will be breaking up into small groups, exploring Hong Kong and competing with each other to complete a Scavenger Hunt!

Are you a youth and want to be involved in our youth group? Check out the many ways you can be involved:
-Friday Night Youth Group: fellowship night every Friday at Union Church
 -Sunday Life: Bible teaching, small groups conversations on Sunday morning
 -Cooking Ministry: cooking a good meal for the group on Friday Night
 -Youth Band: Worship Team, 1hour practice every Friday
 -Christian Clubs: student fellowship at 2 international schools; WIS on Fridays, HKIS High School on Wednesdays.

Kingdom Kids

Sunday School Teacher’s Appreciation Sunday
On Sunday, 28 May, we will pay tribute to all of our Sunday School Teachers who have dedicated their time teaching God’s words and modeling God’s love to all of our children. If parents would like to express your gratitude towards our teachers through short testimony, please contact us at CHILDREN and we will arrange for you to be included in our tribute session. 

Sunday School Student Graduation
On Sunday, 11 June, children born in the year 2006 will be graduating from Sunday School and we will have a short graduation ceremony at the 11.00 AM service. Please join us as we bless these children on their next journey in seeking Christ through the youth program. 

Sunday School Registration 
 If you are new to Union Church or if you have yet to register your children for our Sunday School program, kindly register your children HERE. All children enrolling in our Sunday School and Crèche Center MUST BE REGISTERED by filling in and signing the Registration Form.
