In his recent lectures in HK, Os Guiness, author and social critic, posited that the invention of painkillers in the 1960s has resulted in people's unrealistic view of suffering. 26 March, 8:00PM, Corporate Law Panel (plus Caravaggio Art Preview) Oasis will host an esteemed panel of corporate lawyers. Roy Huang is Alternate CEO of China CITIC Bank. Roy studied history at UC Berkeley, earned his Juris Doctorate from Georgetown Law School, and has 30 years of experience. Alia Eyres is currently CEO of Mother's Choice, a non-profit that has provided crisis pregnancy care for 51,000 girls and facilitated 1,400 adoptions, and formerly worked as a corporate lawyer for Hogan Lovells in HK and Skadden, Arps in NYC. Alia also holds her Juris Doctorate from Georgetown Law. Kay Ian Ng is a leading corporate lawyer in Hong Kong for Sullivan and Cromwell; he specialises in capital markets and mergers and acquisitions. Kay Ian has advised on 40 completed Hong Kong IPOs, raising more than US $70 billion in aggregate.
In early April, for Lent, Oasis will visit the Light and Shadows Caravaggio Exhibit to hear a private lecture by art expert, and Chairwoman of the Hong Kong Museum of Art, Nancy Lee, in front of Caravaggio's early 17th century masterpiece The Supper at Emmaus. Nancy will present a 10 minute 'preview of coming attractions' at Oasis this week.
Worship will be led by Daphne Wong, Citrine Ho, and Mary Anne Tan.

Poverty X: Fund Raising for Good Rock Foundation This Friday night the youth will be participating in an overnight poverty simulation to raise money for Good Rock Foundation, a NGO that works in North West China helping to improve the quality of life for orphaned and high risked disabled children. The money the youth raise will go to Good Rocks Fig Bakery Project which teaches disabled young adults how to bake, keeping them out of the asylum and in some cases giving them skills to become partially independent. Youth will still be collecting sponsorships this Sunday after church, or you can drop donations off at the Church marked 'Poverty X'. Thank you for your support. |

Refugee Run - Crossroads This is the last week to sign up for Saturday, 29 March (HK$30pp; 16 yrs and over) Come and experience how refugees are torn from their communities because of physical, political, religious circumstances, and how they find their way in a new country and culture. Next Sunday Services, 30 March Shari and Troy Tvrdik will be interviewed in the 9:30AM and 11AM services, and share how Flourishing Future is having an impact on the lives of the impoverished families in the ger District in Ulaan Bataar, Mongolia.
