U Matters

This week I have been the victim of an MTR door and a lift door closing on me. Twice in one week I have been thrown off balance by an unexpected blow. That's sort of how I feel when I consider the medical situations that our dear friends Nick Miller and Grover Dear are battling. I am off-balance and bruised as I look at the suffering that sneaks up on friends. This Sunday, there are encouragement cards we invite you to fill out for these two very special men who have had such an impact on Union.

Last week's Mission's Sunday, a record attendance at youth events and Oasis, and a flood of new members are just some of the highlights of what God is doing at Union. I am so proud of my colleagues and this amazing congregation as we minister together.

Next Sunday, Dr. Nick Perrin, the Dean of the Wheaton Graduate School, author of several books, will speak at 9:30 and 11:00 on "From Stories to Scripture: When Did the Gospels Become Authoritative?". You won't want to miss it!

Chris Kempis, Chief Airbus Pilot at Cathay Pacific Airways, will speak on flying and faith. Chris studied at the Swedish Institute of Technology and has flown for Cathay, South African Airways, and Falconair, Ltd. Bring your questions about faith and/or flying.

Kindgom Kids

Teacher's Brunch Kingdom Kids invite all our teachers and volunteers for a time of fellowship and appreciation as we share some breakfast treats on 1 June, Sunday from 10:30AM to 11:00AM on the green. We have a special surprise for you!

Vacation Bible School Summer Sunday School just got weird! Kingdom Kids invite all children from 3 to 9 years old to "WEIRD ANIMALS: Where Jesus' Love is One-of-a-Kind". For five Sundays in the summer (20 JULY, 27 JULY, 3 AUG, 10 AUG, 17 AUG) at 9:30AM and 11:00AM, we will have songs, skits, bible story-telling, games, snacks and science experiments. Registration is required and volunteers from 10 years old and above are needed! For more information contact children@unionchurchhk.org.

Weekly Ministries

New Course: Life Worth Living

When: 19 June for 9 consecutive Thursdays

Time: 7:30PM to 9:00PM (no food is provided)

What: In the course, the apostle Paul takes us through the book of Philippians and show us clear and powerful answers to many questions and needs in our life. The format is similar to an Alpha course in that we will start with a Nicky Gumbel video followed by a group discussion and sharing the ideas and concepts conveyed in the video.

Men's Fraternity meets every Sunday, 8:00AM with a parallel session on Monday evenings at 7:30PM. We are studying The Quest for Authentic Manhood to learn how to be the best husbands, fathers, friends and sons of God we can be.
