This Sunday we have three special events for you to consider:

During the 9:30 service, the Gordon College String Orchestra will accompany our congregation and choir.

At 12:15 there will be the last Town Hall Meeting to discuss the move to Wanchai.

The 5PM service will feature a lecture by Dr. Lauren Pfister, Hong Kong Baptist University, on James Legge. The world’s leading authority on Union’s founder will draw lessons from Legge to help us as we embark on our rebuilding adventure.

Gordon College String Orchestra
Sunday, 28 May 9:30AM Service
Gordon College is one of the United States’ premier Christian colleges located in Massachusetts. Dr. Sarita Kwok, the chair of Gordon’s music department, and a group of string majors are doing an Asia tour, performing chamber music and string orchestra repertoire by Haydn, Dvorak, Holst, Vivaldi and Elgar. We welcome their String Orchestra joining our 9:30AM service this Sunday.

Sunday School Teacher’s Appreciation Sunday
 On Sunday, 28 May at both 9:30 and 11:00AM service, we will be paying tribute to all of our Sunday School Teachers for their dedication and love towards our children’s ministry.  Our Sunday School teachers comprise parents, youth and young adults who have volunteered their Sunday mornings to minister and care for our children. On behalf of all the children, parents and Union Church family, we would like to say 'A BIG THANK YOU' to all of our Sunday School teachers, Crèche and youth assistant volunteers. Parents and UC family, please do extend your thanks and well wishes to our Sunday School teachers when you see them this Sunday.

Town Hall Meeting

There will be a Town Hall Meeting this Sunday to learn more about the move and how it affects you.  Deacons, CoM, and staff will be there to hear your concerns. 

Kindness Walk - Reach out to the Homeless in Shum Shui Po
Sunday, 28 May
Families and children are welcome to join. We will give out free laundry coupons and some basic supplies to show our care. Please meet at:
(i) Nam Cheong MTR Exit A at 2PM, or
(ii) Have lunch together in the Lower Annex at 12:15PM before heading out.
Please bring $100 and a recycle bag for the supplies to be given away. Contact Pastor Michele, Jeff Rotmeyer or Melody Landes for more details.

Opportunities

Monthly Prison Ministry
Christian Women who are bilingual and 26+ are invited.
First Monday morning of each month for a 6-month period, 9:15AM to 12:30PM
Tai Lam Centre for Women, 110 Tai Lam Chung Road, Tuen Mun.
Each visit will include 2 classes of Bible Study each for 1 hour and 15 mins.  
Join the training before and after you begin.

New Small Group Opportunities

Tuesday Nights
Join Rachel Wirth in the Mid-Levels on Tuesday nights for a study of Tim Keller’s series the Prodigal God. There is no better way to get connected than through a small group. Contact Pastor Michele for details.

Friday Nights
Join Emilie & Colin Banfield and Ester & Eugene Chung on the Southside alternate Friday nights. Starting 2 June, they will launch a new study “Sticky Faith”. This DVD series provides great talking points on parenting and how to help maintain the spiritual life of our kids. If you are a parent, this study is for you. Consider joining a couples group and contact  or Pastor Michele for more details.

Men's Fellowship OMEGA Dinner

Youth

Amazin(g)Race
Friday, 26 May 6:00PM
This week we will have our ‘Amazin(G)Race’. For this event we will be breaking up into small groups, exploring Hong Kong and competing with each other to complete a scavenger Hunt! Youth of all ages are invited to arrive at 6:00PM, and will return at 8:00PM to determine who won!

Youth Sunday Life 
 9:30-10:30AM, Youth Lounge
Sunday Life at 9:30AM. All ages will meet in the Youth Lounge to play games, have fellowship and watch the next NOOMA video to discuss together. This weeks’ NOOMA video is titled "You” and delves into the historical context of Jesus, Christianity and how it differentiated itself from the religions and practices of the time. What did it mean to have a God who cares deeply for us personally, and what does it mean now?

Are you a youth and want to be involved in our youth group? Check out the many ways you can be involved:
-Friday Night Youth Group: fellowship night every Friday at Union Church
-Sunday Life: Bible teaching, small groups conversations on Sunday morning
-Cooking Ministry: cooking a good meal for the group on Friday Night
-Youth Band: Worship Team, 1hour practice every Friday
-Christian Clubs: student fellowship at 2 international schools; WIS on Fridays, HKIS High School on Wednesdays.

Kingdom Kids

Sunday School Student Graduation
 On Sunday, 11 June, children born in the year 2006 will be graduating from Sunday School and we will have a short graduation ceremony at the 11.00 AM service. Please join us as we bless these children on their next journey in seeking Christ through the youth program. 

Dad’s Date
 Please Save the date, 18 June for Dad’s Date. In celebrating Father’s Day, Kingdom Kids is organising an afternoon of activities for all the Fathers and children of Union Church. It will take place at the Fellowship Hall from 12.15 PM. Light lunch will be provided. Please sign up at or at the Kingdom Kids Table if you would like to join us.

Mission

All-Church Mission Trip to Manila, October 2017
 Sign-up now for Union Church’s annual All-Church Mission Trip to Manila in partnership with Kids International Ministries (KIM).
Everyone is welcome to join: KIM is baby and youth friendly! 
The dates of the trip are 29 September to 02 October 2017, but you can also extend your stay in the Philippines if you want to! The current early-bird price for the trip is $4200.
Unaccompanied youth will stay 3 more days with Anto (until 05 October, price: $5600) to enjoy a visit of Puerto Galera. Contact o register.
