U Matters

Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz clicked her heels and stated, “there is no place like home.” It’s true, and the sentiment of home seems to be a theme this week.

Steven Kim was sent home from the hospital. Theresa Cheung and a group of 15 went to minister at a seniors' home, China Coast, last Sunday. And Pastor Matthew and Hunter Purvis returned to their Union Church home. Although Pastor Matthew is with us for a few weeks, Hunter Purvis will re-join the staff team and work in the area of youth. Welcome home.

If you are looking for a church home, we welcome you to Union Church. We hope you will find Union a place whereby you can grow in worship to God, connect in community, and find meaningful opportunities to serve. In the words of Dorothy, ‘there is no place like home.”

Blessings,
Pastor Michele

Union this Summer

This summer we have the privilege of having a variety of speakers. Pastor Matthew for 29 July, 5, 12 August, Enoch Hsu for 19 August, followed by Pastor George Cladis on 26th.

Pastor Greg will be taking a two month break this summer to attend to personal and family matters. Let's remember the Anderson family during this time.

Opportunities

Good News! The 8:45AM SUNDAY SERVICE will continue throughout the summer!
Due to the fullness of our worship services, consider trying out another service time this summer. Our 8:45AM service is a refreshing option; it is family friendly and offers communion every Sunday.  We will carry on throughout the summer and would love to see you there!

Small Groups

Small groups are where we dig into the nitty-gritty of following Jesus. Studying the Bible, reading topical books, praying, laughing and eating together--small groups are where we connect with each other. Groups meet all over Hong Kong on different days of the week. Interested? Contact Monte Peterson or sign up here

Fundraising Walkathon for KSA Prison Ministry

The Hong Kong Christian Kun Sun Association (KSA) will hold a fundraising walkathon “Prayer Walk”, on 29 September, Saturday afternoon, for their prison ministry that has been operating for 40 years. It would be a good chance to walk with the ministry's supporters, the rehabilitated persons as well as their families, witnessing God’s work and reaching out to those behind the bars. For details, please refer to the documents as attached (LeafletLetter, and Application Form).

Peace for Every Child Charity Walk by World Vision Hong Kong
