CALLING ALL MEMBERS! Last Sunday's Town Meeting left me with several impressions: We love Jesus, we love each other, and we love Union Church. Union is not a building, it is Jesus and people.
But we do have an exciting opportunity as far as a new building and we need to prepare our heads and hearts to make a decision that will honour Christ and build his body of believers called Union. Building Union for the Future |

For almost two decades Union Church has considered the long term redevelopment of the current, aging church building. Now the time for decision is pressing upon us. We believe that God has opened a door by providing a long term building plan that the church leadership (Deacons, Trustees, and Committee of Management) have unanimously endorsed. This endorsement came after prayer, deliberation, consideration and re-consideration of multiple alternatives. On Wednesday, 19 February, at a Joint Leaders meeting, a resolution was passed unanimously on Building Union for the Future that will be voted on by members of Union Church at the Annual General Meeting on Sun, March 16. We believe that what God is providing with this plan is not just a new and exciting place of worship, but also a strong foundation for the warm, vibrant, compassionate community that Union aspires to be leading fruitful lives in Christ and doing Kingdom works in the community and beyond. Please seek opportunities to engage a leadership member at the information table, attend a Town Hall session, or join in prayer vigils as we approach a vote on the plan at the Annual General Meeting on 16 March. Our U Cafe (casual & kid-friendly) contemporary worship service will meet as scheduled in the Fellowship Hall from 11:00AM to 12:00PM. Non-Members are welcome to attend the AGM in the Sanctuary but will not be able to vote. Alternatively, you may join the U Cafe Service. If you are a voting member of the church we would ask that you make it a priority to attend and cast your vote at the AGM. Union Church is very excited for you to be a part of our Lenten Reflection Series on "Suffering". It is a great opportunity to have a time of fellowship as we learn and discuss life's most difficult questions - "If God is love, if He is all-powerful and all-knowing, why is there suffering?" "Why is there suffering at all?" "What does the Bible say about suffering?" "How can we respond to suffering?" Our ministers and staff will attempt to answer these questions by leading a talk and discussion from their area of passion and training.
