This year, Union Church celebrates 175 years of ministry in Hong Kong. What a blessing to be a part of such a vibrant church! I am grateful for the Anniversary team who have been envisioning some wonderful opportunities to commemorate this milestone. Thank you Anson Wang, Ken Morrison, Michael Birley, Catronia Woodrow, Simon Ng, Linda Ngan, Chris Yorks, Charles Caldwell and David Ashton-Howorth, it has been a joy meeting with you and discovering ways in which we can celebrate.

 

We invite the congregation, big and small, to join the festivities with a 175 Anniversary logo competition, see below for details. Other events are being organised, however, here are a few to whet your appetite. Please save the date for the following commemorative events:

 

• Trip to Xi Shuang Banna, Yunnan, China on August 9th-12th, celebrating with churches and leaders. Union Church has participated with churches in this area and there has been tremendous fruit. Come and discover.
• Worship and Celebration Service on Saturday Oct 19th at Methodist International Church - all welcome.

 

We rejoice in the years of faithful ministry that Union Church has had in Hong Kong and around the world. May our vision and focus for the years to come echo the words of the Apostle Paul: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24

 

We invite all the children and youth of Union Church to participate in Union Church's 175th anniversary logo design competition. The logo should reflect:

The logo will be used for: Web, printed materials, slides, etc. Please submit your entry by the 31st of July, 2019.

Please send your logo to   by the deadline. Your submission should include the name of the entrant, mobile number and email address of their parents or guardians.

The winners will be announced on Sunday 4th August.

There is a dynamic team working on some wonderful ways to honour Union Church's 175 years in Hong Kong. We will be rolling out some of these plans shortly. That being said, we would like to invite you on a trip Friday August 9th - Sunday Aug 12th to Xishuang Banna, Yunnan province, China. Why there?

In 1998, the congregation of Union Church gave generously towards the building of a church in the rural village of Mengla, in Xishuang Banna, Yunnan province, China, where many ethnic minority groups live. Leaders from this church in Yunnan paid us a surprise visit last November, to thank us, and to share the encouraging news with us that they have now grown from 60 to 3,000 believers in size, planting eight more churches, with ministries reaching across the borders into other parts of Asia. As we celebrate our 175th anniversary at Union Church, we would like to invite 10 members of the congregation here to come on this trip with us. Our preliminary plans are: Friday - travel; Saturday - mission activities; Sunday - fellowship; Monday - travelling back. Build a marriage that lasts. Tuesday nights from 10 September to 5 November 2019. 7:00PM to 9:30PM. Fellowship Hall of Union Church

Whether you are newly married or been married for years, this course offers a lifetime of practical ideas and tools to help keep your relationship strong. The course runs for 7 weeks + 1 further week if we have a social gathering (1 Oct will be a week off). It is based on Christian principles but is designed for ALL couples with or without a church background. The course is structured like a date night between each couple - there is no group sharing - just a romantic 3 course dinner which is served for you, a talk with videos and private discussions between yourselves as a couple.

At ROAR VBS Sunday School, kids will explore God’s goodness and celebrate a ferocious faith that powers them through this wild life. For registration, please print/complete the Registration Form, and send us by email (CHILDREN) or submit in person at the Welcome Table on Sunday. Children are welcome to bring friends along too, VBS Sunday School is free for all.

 

Sunday School Registration for academic year 2019/2020 is now open. Our annual registration ensures that we have the latest records of all the children attending our Children’s Ministry program and helps us plan our program well and so serve your family better. All children enrolling in our Sunday School and Crèche Center MUST BE REGISTERED by filling in and signing the Registration Form. We would appreciate it if you could kindly register your children HERE. Registration Forms are also available at the Welcome Table.
