U Matters

I write from the Sea of Galilee. From this vantage point I can see many of the sites from the ministry of Jesus Christ. I look across the water to the Golan Heights. We are eight miles from Syria and have heard missile and artillery fire off and on all day.

This is where Jesus called his first disciples. Thousands of years later his call to "follow me" is heard by his current disciples. A few miles from me Syrian Christians are experiencing profound persecution. A few meters from you there are people who don't know Jesus.

The leadership of Union is praying that many of you will take the next step and formally join our congregation. There will be an "Amnesty Membership Lunch" on 6 April.

Pastor Greg

Amnesty Membership Lunch, 6 April, After 11AM Service, Fellowship Hall

What is Amnesty Membership Lunch? Many of you have been attending Union Church for years, you serve, you give financially and are in community. You may think if your name is in the directory, you are a member. Some just haven't made the time to formalize a commitment to Union Church. Then this lunch is for you.

What Amnesty Membership Lunch is NOT? It has nothing to do with the "United Nations" but rather a "Catchy" term to invite non-members to become members.

What if I can't make the lunch? There will continue to be opportunities to become member throughout the year.

How? Please collect a green membership form from the "Table on the Green", send your testimony or bring it to Pastor Michele, or RSVP for lunch on or before 6 April.

Note: Membership gives you voting rights on congregational issues, which according to Union Church constitution will take effect 6 months after membership. Hope you can join us.

Youth

Want to sponsor a back pack? The youth who are going to Cambodia in April are wanting to bless the kids at the orphanage with new backpacks full of school supplies! The last time the kids received new backpacks they were so excited they did not take them off for days and even slept with them on. We are wanting to fill and bring down 40 full bags. Each bag costs $250 to fill. If you would like to sponsor a bag or two, please e-mail Brenna at
