Luke’s sixty-year story that makes up nearly one third of the NT is the only source for the Prodigal Son, the Good Samaritan, Zechariah and Elizabeth, shepherds at the manger, Emmaus, Peter's prison escape, Pentecost, Stephen’s martyrdom, Paul's Damascus Road conversion, etc. Luke’s gospel is the strongest NT summons to serve the poor, glorify the Saviour, and receive the Spirit. |
