U Matters

Youth ministry attendance is up 251% over last year. Ryan and Brenna are quick to blame God and their lay volunteers for the growth. I praise God for this growth and thank our youth directors for a job well done!

Today we bid farewell to Ryan. As Jesus would say, “Well done. Good and faithful servant.” As he leaves us for Alaska, please consider making a cash gift in the Ryan Box and join in the reception for Ryan following the 11:00AM service.

Prof. Nicholas Perrin, Franklin S. Dyrness Professor of Biblical Studies and Dean of the Wheaton Graduate School, will be preaching at 9:30AM and 11AM. At 5PM he will present a Legge Lecture; “From Stories to Scripture: When Did the Gospels Become Authoritative?” I am thrilled to welcome an old friend who will open up the New Testament to us in a very special way.

Kindgom Kids

Teacher's Brunch Kingdom Kids invite all our teachers and volunteers for a time of fellowship and appreciation as we share some breakfast treats on 1 June, Sunday from 10:30AM to 11:00AM on the green. We have a special surprise for you!

Vacation Bible School Summer Sunday School just got weird! Kingdom Kids invite all children from 3 to 9 years old to "WEIRD ANIMALS: Where Jesus' Love is One-of-a-Kind". For five Sundays in the summer (20 JULY, 27 JULY, 3 AUG, 10 AUG, 17 AUG) at 9:30AM and 11:00AM, we will have songs, skits, bible story-telling, games, snacks and science experiments. Registration is required and volunteers from 10 years old and above are needed! For more information contact children@unionchurchhk.org.

We will have a special combined Jr. & Sr. High Youth groups Sunday school party to close out the year. Please join us for fellowship and food! 

Missions

Youth and Missions have created an exciting opportunity to serve in Tacloban, Philippines, epicentre of last years devastating Typhoon Yolanda, with Kids International Ministry. 

Participation is open to youth and their families (aged 8 years and up).

Cost: HK$5,000 pp

Date: Wednesday, 1 Oct - Saturday, 4 Oct

Only 30 places

To hold your spot we need a copy of your passport and a HK$1,000 Non-Refundable deposit. BEFORE 20 Jun 2014.  (Registration after that date is subject to price increase due to increase of flights.)

Weekly Ministries

New Course: Life Worth Living

When: 19 June for 9 consecutive Thursdays

Time: 7:30PM to 9:00PM (no food is provided)

What: In the course, the apostle Paul takes us through the book of Philippians and show us clear and powerful answers to many questions and needs in our life. The format is similar to an Alpha course in that we will start with a Nicky Gumbel video, followed by a group discussion and sharing the ideas and concepts conveyed in the video.
